We had some unusually hot weather in July here in the Great Northwest. Some friends and I decided to escape the 100+ degrees and head to the coast for the day! We all packed a picnic lunch and drove the hour and a half. When we arrived we had a foggy
forecast, but very little wind and perfect
temperatures in the mid 80s! It was a perfect day. We picked a spot on the beach close to a little stream coming out of the rocks to the ocean and the kids quickly dammed it up and played in the warmer water close by. Then we all took a walk over to tide pools where we found lots of crabs and starfish and even a starfish eating a crab! No kidding! The crab was half eaten! I have never seen that before and it was very cool for the kids. We had a total of four moms and eleven kids and we carpooled in two cars. What a great day!!!
