The OSU Lambing Barns

On March 1st I took Ben and Andrew over to the OSU Lambing barns. We had a great time! You have to read the story at the end!

Lambs are so soft and cute!

There are even llamas!

Check out my new rubber boots! I love them!

We were there for about 45 minutes or so. Why so long? Because two ewes were laboring and I wasn't going to leave without seeing a lamb be born! As luck would have it, they were both born within minutes of each other! What a cool experience!
Actually we missed the first lamb because Ben HAD to go potty! So we rushed out and came back as quick as we could and she had just barely been born. Then the next one was born a couple minutes later. When the lamb came out (the ewe's backside was facing us) Ben turned to me with a face that was a combination between shock, puzzlement and disgust and said, "What's that?!" I told him, "That's the baby lamb." He just looked at me, face still frozen, so I continued, "The baby lamb just came out of the mommy's tummy." He looked over to the lamb, back to me, and back and forth a few times. Then his eyes got big as he was finally able to process what just happened and he said, "She just pooped it out?!!!!" I chuckle, so do the other moms and kids, "Yes dear." He was appalled! Good thing he was a Cesarean so I can honestly tell him, he did NOT come into the world that way! LOL!
