Nick's First Klondike Campout!

On February 19th, Nathan accompanied Nick on his first Klondike! They went up to Big Springs Snow Park near Santiam Pass in the Cascade Mountains. They built a snow cave to sleep in and stayed pretty warm. When they built their snow cave, if you were standing outside and looking into it, it looked all foggy like when you take a hot steamy shower and fog up the bathroom. That is how much warmer it was inside, then outside! Nick did say that in the morning his feet were freezing, but he did keep all ten toes. Nick really enjoyed this experience and came home all smiles with his dad. I love that Nick can spend this quality time with his dad. I love that Boy Scouts provides these neat experiences too. I am just glad it isn't me out there sleeping in the snow! I am glad to stay home and hold down the fort!
