Snow in the Valley!!!

On February 24th we got more than a "dusting" of snow in the Willamette Valley. The kids were sooooo happy! The funny thing is that on the day we had all the snow (and remember that Albany does not have snow plows) the schools were not cancelled. They were cancelled everywhere else, but not in Albany. Then the next day when it was mostly melted off and just fine, the schools were cancelled. Huh?!?! There is just no sense to be made there.

None the less, the children had a blast and enjoyed the fluffy white stuff for the short time it visited! Nick is not in the picture because he already left for school. The kids went out to play in the snow before Tatiana had to leave for school because she was worried it wouldn't be here when she got home. But no worries, there was still snow and she got plenty more playtime. Check out Andrew! He is enjoying the snow much more this time than he did last time! Remember this post??? http://tolmansix.blogspot.com/2010/12/snow-day-in-valley.html

Ben's snowman! He is very proud of it! This was the next day, when the snow was mostly gone and the schools were canceled???

The morning of the 24th. What a beautiful view out our front window! Those are Nick's footprints down the walkway that he left when he went to school.

And here is the view of our backyard! Wow!

My kids are so funny! After breakfast, Tatiana went out and dished up some "clean" snow for her and the boys to have a snack. "yummy!" they say.

Finally a picture of Nick. He built a snowman in the shadiest, most protected spot because he knows how fast snow disappears around these parts. His snowman actually did last about four days when the rest of the snow lasted only two! That's our Nick, always thinking!
