Our Family Race Day

On Thanksgiving Morning our whole family got up and went down to the first annual Mid-Valley Road Race! It was a lot of fun!!! The memorial walk was in memory of Jenessa Byers, a local 8 year old girl who died of cancer last year. The whole event benefited several local charities including helping to pay for another little girl who is battling cancer right now.

Here I am getting the two little boys situated in the stroller. Nick and Tatiana are helping me.

Then we lined up, the horn blew, and we were off! Nathan, Nick and I ran the 3.75 mile race. This was both Nathan and Nick's first official race. The other one they did was in August and it was a fun-run for our church ward. The race course was an out and back. I was racing and Nathan was staying with Nick who was doing VERY well! Here they are as I caught them coming back. Go go go! You're doing great!!!

Here is Nathan and his running buddy Nick at the finish line. What a team! They finished the 3.75 miler in 44 minutes! That's an average of an 11:58 mile. Nick finished 5th in his age division of 12 and under.

Grandpa and Grandma Tolman, and Tatiana walked the 2.5 mile memorial walk. They pushed Ben and Andrew in the stroller. Tatiana did great!

I was very surprised to receive the third place in my age division for females! I got a bronze medal. I finished in 37 minutes and averaged a 10:01 mile.

Afterwards we met a celebrity dog! This is Kobe, the star of DogGone.

And they also got a picture taken with The Miss West Coast Outstanding Teen 2008.
