Sunday Waffles

After church on Sunday we had our whole wheat waffles. They are a family favorite and I had to show off these pictures of Ben enjoying his lunch of waffles and bananas.

Here is the recipe for those who want to try them!

Whole Wheat Waffles

1 1/2 cups milk
1 cup whole wheat
1/2 cup oil
4 tsp baking powder
2 eggs
1/2 tsp salt

Mix 1 cup wheat and 1 cup of milk in the blender on high speed until "gluggy". About 1-2 minutes.

Add the rest of the ingredients and blend on high until soupy, at least 4 minutes.

Pour enough batter into a hot waffle iron to fill it and cook the waffles until done.

Continue until the batter is gone.

Serve warm with your choice of toppings. Cooked waffles can be frozen and warmed later in the toaster.

Servings: 8
