Storybook Land

After the "Celebration of Trees" we headed over to the fairgrounds to see "Storybook Land". It is a free non-profit event put on by all volunteers. This is the 32nd year! It is so amazing and seems to grow every year.

We walk through a man-made forest of Christmas trees and Christmas lights as we view scenes from favorite children's books, movies, fairy tales and nursery rhymes. The children's faces light up as they see things they recognize. It really is quite magical.

Here Nick is pointing out the Shrek Scene and the Lion King is behind him.

Ben really enjoyed it all! He especially loved the model train display!

Look! 101 Dalmatians. And yes, Nick and Tiana counted and there were 101!

The two model train tables were fun to watch and they had papers of search and find things too look for. Nick and Tiana had fun finding everything. I think Grandma had fun with that too!

All this merriment wore little Andrew out.

Santa was waiting for us at the end. Andrew's very first sit on Santa's lap!!!


Ben didn't want to sit on Santa's lap but he wasn't too shy to take the candy cane or to ask for a fire engine! He has been into firemen and fire trucks for a while now. He was a fire man for Halloween and now all he wants is a fire truck. Actually two, a little one and a big one.


Tatiana wants a LEGO Police Headquarters set. She is into LEGOS like her brother and likes the "heroes" like police and fire fighters. She wants to be a paramedic when she grows up!

Nick asked for a Tri-Bot robot. He loves anything scientific and is getting into robots now.

Nick and Tiana have both questioned the reality of Santa Clause and I will tell you what I told them. "As long as you believe in Santa and keep the magic alive, you will receive Santa presents, when you stop believing you will get underwear." They have stopped questioning.
