Butterflies at Preschool!

On May 6th we had preschool here. It was my last week to teach for the school year. We did a unit on Bugs and Butterflies. The kids had a lot of fun with it, as always. They are great group of kids and I will miss having them over reguarly. Oh well, we'll just have to have lots of playdates!

Here is the crew, plus one. I was also babysitting for a friend of mine, but she (the one in the middle) fit right in since she is friends with all the kids.

Checking out the butterflies before they were released into the yard.

The kids chased one over to this bush...

And boy were they surprised when it flew up into her face!

Fun times!

Dinosaurs at Preschool

We did a Dinosaur unit in Preschool and it was so much fun!!! I got a tub of sand from the local garden store, printed off a T-Rex skeleton for each child, laminated them and cut them up like a puzzle. Then I buried them in the sand and they dug for the dinosaur bones...

Then pieced the puzzle together to make the dinosaur and identified what they thought it was just like a real paleontologist!

We also had an erupting volcano. The kids loved this and kept shouting, "AGAIN! AGAIN!"

They pressed little toy dinosaurs, dino feet, and shells into hardening clay to make their own fossils too!

"Look at my fossils!!!"

Ben LOVES dinosaurs!!!

Ben's nativity

I taught Ben's preschool last week and one of the crafts we did was a stand up nativity! Here is Ben with his three classmates showing off their fine work. Aren't they cute! I am keeping the nativity forever! I am keeping Ben forever too!

Preschool trip to the Pumkin Patch

We took the preschool children to the pumpkin patch. I couldn't get Andrew to smile on the hayride, he wasn't too sure of it.

But Ben was all smiles. He loved it!

Climbing the hay bails in the middle of the hay maze.

Of course we had to put Andrew's head in the scarecrow!

Beautiful Fall day!
