A sewing project - a bag for Hawai'i!

I made this bag for my mother-in-law to use in Hawaii. I gave it to her as a Christmas present. I think it turned out GREAT! I am going to make myself one too, but just haven't gotten to it yet.

I love the bright colors and contrasting patterns! You cannot tell in these pictures, but it is pretty big. It can easily fit a beach towel, water bottle, snacks, etc.

I love these cute little felt buttons I found to embellish it.

The bottom is reinforced for added durability.

It is lined with the striped fabric. Check out that quality! I know my humility has left me at the moment, but I think it turned out really good! Mom liked it too!

Sewing Project - Mom's apron

My mother requested I make her an apron for her upcoming quilt show. She had sent me the pattern and picked out the white fabric with pink roses. I found some pretty coordinating fabric and went to work. I had Nathan take a couple pictures before I sent it because I thought it turned out very pretty.

Tatiana sewing!

Tatiana has a new hobby that she loves and that she is really good at! Sewing! Her first project was taking scraps of fleece she collected after we made fleece blankets for the needy at church and she sewed them together to make a quilt for her beloved "Kissy-Bear", who has been her favorite companion since she received her on her first Christmas! She did a nice job!
Here is Tatiana, Kissy-Bear and her new quilt.

She also made a little doll, complete with yarn hair and button eyes, for a Brownie sister. This friend of hers has been diagnosed with Celiec disease and has been very sick, so Tatiana wanted to make something for her to make her feel better. Crafty and compassionate! That's my little angel!

The doll turned out so cute that we want to make more for gifts and of of course one for herself! She even stiched on the smile and the heart. She is a quick study! We forgot to take a picture of her with the finished project though. Oh well, there will be more.

Tatiana's Thanksgiving dress!

Tatiana came to me wanting me to sew her a dress. Not just any dress, a Thanksgiving dress! Afterall, she has never had a "Thanksgiving dress" before. She went to the fabric store with me and picked out her fabric and trimmings. This is the end result. We bought the fabric on Monday night and I finished in Saturday morning, just in time to wear to church the next day! She LOVES it! And it is so pretty on her! The fabric really matches her hair! These pictures just do not do it justice. But you get the idea.

The sash has beautiful fall leaves and acorns on it. The trim around the sleeves is a leather fringe. I know, leather and satin??? That is what I said at first, but it is her dress and I let it be what she wanted. She wanted the leather fringe because it would look a little like a Thanksgiving Indian. And you know what? I think it turned out great!
