Day 6 - Zugspitze, Garmish

On day 6 we left Venice and traveled north again, back to Germany. On the way we saw a few castles...

and neat churches with magnificent scenery!

We went to Zugspitze mountain, the highest mountain in Germany. To get there, first we took a train part way up the mountain...

Then a cable car the rest of the way...

I am really glad we didn't have to climb this giant, at nearly 10,000 feet, it was pretty high! We didn't get much a view though because of the clouds. Oh well, it was still a cool experience.

It was pretty cold up there so we had some hot soup.

What a neat day!

After coming down from the top of the world we continues on our way to Garmisch. This was an adorable little German town. Almost all the building had this painting on them, it is called "frescoed". So pretty!

This is the view out our hotel balcony. This was the day the weather changed for our trip. It was perfect weather the whole time, but from here on out would be more interesting.

We had dinner in the restaurant that was on the first floor of our hotel. This German man would play his music and two boys would come out every now and then and perform a slap dance, very fun and talented!

We strolled the streets in the evening, we like doing that, when the town gets quiet and we can really enjoy it.

Good night!

Did I mention this already: that it feels like I'm reading about an episode on 'The Amazing Race!' LOL! You guys are having an adventure of a lifetime! Wow.... all of the beautiful things you have been able to see and the new things you are experiencing... what a fantastic opportunity. How lucky you are!

Pretty scenery! Strolling the streets is one of my favorite parts of seeing new cities! You see the small businesses and people close up that way. I am happy that you two saw and did so much on this whirlwind trip!
