Back to school parties!

School started for Tatiana and Nick on Tuesday, September 7th. So on Friday, September 3rd we had some back to school parties. It was a super fun day for the kids and a day of service for me. I do love to serve my children and do nice things for them, and I know they appreciate it.

First, Tatiana had her back to school party from 2:00-4:00. She had eight little girl friends over. They ran through the sprinkler, slid on the slip-and-slide, ate chips, popcorn, fresh baked cookies, strawberries, kool-aid, ice water, and we had ice cream sundaes in waffle bowls! (Not a healthy spread, but it was a party afterall!) The girls also made friendship bracelets for eachother. It was a lot of fun. Ben and Andrew were in on the fun too. The girls love to dote over them and the boys just eat up all the attention!

Taking a break from water fun for some ice cream sundaes! (Tatiana is in the back left, with the pink and orange suit on and taking a bite of a cookie.)

Sweet Andrew smiling big at the girls. They were asking him to come sit by them, he just smiled and stayed put. After a few minutes he had three girls sitting by him. Yeah, he knows how to work it!

Slippery wet fun! (Tatiana is the second from the left.)

After the "girl party", Nick had his "boy party" for back-to-school from 4:00-6:00. They did all the same things except make friendship bracelets. We moved the slip-and-slide to give my grass a break and the boys also brought out the boogie board to use. Wow, what stunts! Ben had a blast with them too. He seems to fit in anywhere. There was too much action for Andrew so he stayed with me and watched.
(Nick is on the boogie board in the middle of the photo.)

So from 2-4 was the girl party, then from 4-6 was the boy party. Then everyone went home, I cleaned up the back yard, fed my kids dinner, went for a run, took a shower, then Tatiana and Nick each had a friend come over at 8:00 for a sleepover. What a day! They had so much fun!

I must be crazy or insane or something. I had so many people tell me things like; "your brave", "your adventurous", "your a glutton for punishment", and even "are you crazy?" because I was doing this for my kids. But to me, it really was no big deal and it was a lot of fun. We do this kind of thing every year. I just don't see what the big deal is. Am I crazy???

It was about an hour after the friends arrived for the sleepover that Nathan called from his hunting trip informing me that they were on their way home because someone took all their stuff! I don't think I am crazy, but this day sure was!
