Mommy "oops" moment with Ben!

WARNING!!! Don't read this post if you don't like the word "Poop"!!!

The other morning I was making dinner to put in the crock pot. I had my hands in raw meat and was in the middle of a mess. Then Ben comes out and says, "poop" and points to his bottom. Ben is potty trained during the day and wears pull-ups for naps and nighttime. However, he still will usually wait until after his nap when he still has his pull-up on to poop and hasn't quite gotten the poop-in-the-toilet thing down. So I thought he meant that he had pooped his pants.

I point to the wall and said, "Mommy's busy, you stay there until I can get cleaned up." So again he said, "poop" very matter-of-fact. I was not happy that he pooped in his underwear (so I thought) so I said, "No, you can sit there until I am ready." I was thinking "That will teach you to poop in your pants, maybe now you'll learn." So then Ben sits down on the floor because I did just say, "...sit there..." I immediately wash my hands and I say, "Ben! No!'" and I am envisioning poop being mashed onto his bottom and a bigger mess to clean up. So I get over to him and feel his bottom, I feel nothing. I pull his undies back and look down there, I see nothing.

So now I am puzzled. He has never asked to go poop before. So I ask him, "Ben, do you have to go poop in the toilet? He responses with and exciting, "Yes!" "OH! Well, then lets go" He sits on the toilet and guess what?!?! He pooped!!!!
